Working Principle

The disc separator is a high-speed centrifugal device designed for continuous solid-liquid and liquid-liquid separation. Also known as a disc centrifuge or disc stack separator, this vertical separation system operates through motor-driven rotation. A stack of closely nested dish-shaped components creates precise gaps between discs. When suspension or emulsion enters through the central feed tube, solid particles or droplets settle on disc surfaces under centrifugal force, forming sediment layers that slide outward for collection. This innovative design significantly reduces settling distance while maximizing bowl surface area, resulting in enhanced production capacity. Solids can be manually removed during shutdown or automatically discharged via continuous slag removal mechanisms.
