Centrifugal Separation Technology

The disc stack separator efficiently separates solids and one or two liquid phases in a continuous process using high centrifugal forces. Denser solids are forced outward against the rotating bowl wall while less dense liquids form concentric inner layers. The interface position between phases can be adjusted for maximum separation efficiency. The specialized disc stack configuration accelerates the separation process dramatically, enabling continuous operation across various applications.

2-Phase Separation Process

Process Flow: 1 Feed → 2 Discharge → 3 Inlet tube → 4 Disc stack → 5 Solids holding space → 6 Centripetal pump chamber → 7 Centripetal pump

Separation occurs within the rotating bowl where feed enters via a stationary inlet pipe. The distributor ensures smooth acceleration before the liquid enters the disc stack. Liquid phases move through the disc stack to the center and are pumped out via paring disc, while solids collect in the periphery for intermittent discharge through a hydraulic system.

3-Phase Separation Process

Process Flow: 1 Inlet tube → 2 Central bore → 3 Distributor → 4 Distributor bore → 5 Rising channels → 6 Light phase centripetal pump → 7 Heavy phase centripetal pump

Suspension enters the separator bowl through a feeding pipe into the disc stack. Heavy phase and sludge move toward the bowl periphery while light phase flows toward the center. Both phases are pumped out separately, with solids collected in the sludge space and discharged intermittently via hydraulic system.

Self-cleaning disc stack centrifuges are available as purifiers (solids and two liquid phases) or clarifiers (solids and one liquid phase) to meet specific application requirements.
