Disc stack separators utilize high centrifugal forces to separate solids and liquid phases in a continuous process. Denser solids are forced outward against the rotating bowl wall while lighter liquid phases form concentric inner layers.
The interface position between liquid phases can be adjusted for maximum separation efficiency. Special disc stacks provide additional surface area, dramatically accelerating the separation process for various solid-liquid combinations.
Separation occurs within a rotating bowl where feed material is introduced and accelerated. Liquid phases move through the disc stack to the center and are pumped out, while solids collect at the periphery for intermittent discharge via hydraulic system.
Three-phase separation handles suspensions with heavy phase, light phase, and solids. Heavy components move toward the bowl periphery, light phase flows toward the center, and solids are discharged intermittently through automated hydraulic systems.
