Continuous Soy Milk Production Separator Centrifuge Clarifying Slurry Without Interruption

High capacity soy milk plants cannot afford a separator that stops the feed every few minutes to eject sludge. The HD-DSS-550N solves this with a nozzle type bowl that discharges concentrated solids continuously through twelve replaceable nozzles at the periphery, while clarified soy milk leaves the bowl through a centripetal pump at constant pressure. With a disc diameter of 550 millimetres and 7100 G of centrifugal force, the machine handles between ten and thirty cubic metres per hour of slurry without a single interruption, which makes it suitable as the backbone clarification unit of an industrial soy beverage plant running three shifts.

Continuous nozzle discharge brings its own engineering challenges, and the design of this separator addresses them directly. Each nozzle is sized and hardened for the abrasive okara fines in the slurry, the concentrate is diluted at the nozzle ring to prevent blockage, and the bowl is dynamically balanced to a level that keeps vibration low even at the highest throughput. The hydraulic system, the lubrication circuit and the drive are monitored by a Siemens PLC that communicates with the plant SCADA system, so the operator sees throughput, pressure, temperature and vibration on the same screen used for the rest of the line. Cleaning is fully automatic and can be triggered from the recipe, from the shift scheduler or from the CIP master controller.

• Non Stop Nozzle Discharge: Twelve hardened peripheral nozzles discharge a concentrated solids stream continuously, so the separator never interrupts the feed and the downstream pasteuriser receives an even flow throughout the shift.
• High Throughput Disc Stack: A 550 millimetre disc stack running at 5800 rpm delivers 7100 G, allowing a single machine to clarify the output of a large grinding and cooking line while holding a very low solids level in the clarified stream.
• Anti Blocking Nozzle Ring: Water dilution at the nozzle ring keeps the concentrate fluid so that fibrous okara fines pass through the nozzles instead of plugging them, a problem that stops conventional nozzle separators within minutes.
• Stable Constant Pressure Outlet: The centripetal pump maintains two to three bar at the outlet with a variation below five percent, protecting the homogeniser from cavitation and giving the filling line a stable product flow.
• SCADA Ready Control: The Siemens PLC exposes throughput, temperature, pressure, vibration and cleaning status over Ethernet, so the separator integrates into the plant control system and into production reporting without a separate gateway.
• Low Noise and Vibration Frame: The bowl is balanced to ISO 1940 grade G2.5 and the frame is mounted on tuned spring dampers, keeping noise below 82 dB(A) and eliminating the transmission of vibration into the surrounding steel structure.

The separator is intended for large soy milk and soy beverage factories, for soy protein plants where continuous clarification precedes membrane filtration or evaporation, and for co-packing facilities that run several plant based beverages on the same line. It also handles other high solids slurries in the food industry, including rice and oat milk, coconut milk and fruit juice with high pulp content. In existing plants the unit is typically installed between the cooking stage and the homogeniser, replacing several smaller batch separators and the buffer tanks that were needed to cover their ejection cycles, which frees floor space and reduces the number of cleaning cycles per shift.

The separator is shipped with the bowl locked, the frame bolted to a fumigated wooden skid and the whole assembly enclosed in a seaworthy plywood case with a vapour barrier, desiccant and shock indicators. The nozzle set, tool kit, spare seal kit and control cabinet are packed in separate crates and labelled. The documentation package contains installation drawings, P and I diagrams, the operation and maintenance manual, the bowl inspection procedure, electrical schematics, material and conformity certificates and the factory run test report. Warranty is twelve months from commissioning or eighteen months from shipment, and a commissioning engineer is available on request.
